Pomegranate

Granatapfel.pngThe pomegranate, also known as the paradise apple*, was originally cultivated from the Himalayas to the Mediterranean, but is now grown in all tropical and subtropical countries on earth. The pomegranate tree used to be a sacred plant among the Egyptians and also in Judaism. The kernels have a sour and refreshing taste.** Due to the influence of the valuable ingredients, the harmful effects of free radicals in the body are prevented. In addition, the kernels are particularly rich in polyphenols, which are said to have a number of positive effects on health. * Emmrich, 2020 Emmrich, P. (2020).
