Minecraft, the world's best-selling computer game, played a significant role in the development of our organic fruit tea Digital Detox: As Esin's sons spent a lot of time in front of the screen building cube worlds in Minecraft when they were young, the samova founder decided without further ado to turn part of the digital world into an analogue herbal tea that tastes good to young and old alike. The raw materials apple, sunflower, pumpkin and carrot, which can be grown virtually in the game to collect energy points, now ensure a good mood in our fruit tea and help you switch off.

The story of Digital Detox
One day, sometime in 2014, samova founder Esin felt the need to shut down all her computers and move into a tree house, because the age of screens and "social acceleration" (quoting Hartmut Rosa) was almost getting on her nerves. Esin decided to change her everyday life. Social media were limited to the bare minimum, meetings were held in the fresh air. Esin moved the samova headquarters from the now heavily built-up Hafen City to the creative and green ambience of the Kultur Palast foundation in Hamburg-Billstedt. Instead of getting stuck in a car traffic jam every morning, she could now walk to work, having already spent two hours in the morning in nature with her royal poodle Aurel.Esin had the idea to dedicate a new tea creation to the natural need for analogous rest. Inspired by her two sons, who at the time were spending various hours playing the computer game Minecraft, she had an inspiration: how about developing a new organic fruit tea that would motivate the boys to switch off? Because it's made from ingredients virtually grown in Minecraft? The result was colorful and fruity and delicious: Digital Detox! Completely without the addition of flavors and with friendly-colorful pixel rough-cutting of the ingredients, the result was a mixture of Minecraft-tested crops: pumpkin, carrot, apple and sunflower. Together with hemp and other herbs, they've been helping with the biggest challenge of the digital age ever since: just shut everything down - and enjoy!
At the Online Marketing Rockstars festival, which gathered the digital industry in Hamburg in spring 2016, our organic baby Digital Detox saw the light of day: on February 25 at the Rockstars Expo at a strictly analog booth - with typewriter and handwritten raffle - and on February 26 during the analog breaks of the conference. Immediately afterwards, the tea premiere moved on to St. Peter-Ording at the Beach Motel, where we swayed our hips in a completely analog way at a mini dance tea - to delicious Digital Detox tea cocktails and live music sounds by the fabulous Rockhouse Brothers.
By the way: To this day, the samova headquarters are located above the Palastküche restaurant in the Kultur Palast Hamburg. The spacious building, built around the core of a historic waterworks, is located in the middle of a beautiful garden, which invites to an extremely chilled workflow in the green.
