"Heidi's Delight is inspired by the story of little Heidi. It's all about nature and friendship - just like samova."
Esin Rager, samova founder
The story of Heidi's Delight
Heidi's Delight consists of herbs that have made history in Switzerland. The minty-fresh organic blend is inspired by the story of little Heidi and her adventures. It's all about nature and friendship - just like samova. The story of the little orphan Heidi, who grows up with her grandfather in the healthy nature of the Swiss mountains and later gets to know the "gray" civilization of the big city in Frankfurt, is world famous. Author Johanna Spyri wrote it down in two novels in 1880 and 1881, and countless film adaptations since then have moved children's hearts in particular. When the Swiss Tourist Board knocked on samova's door in 2006 and asked founder Esin to develop a tea on the theme of Switzerland, Heidi's adventures were immediately present as a source of inspiration. Because this story celebrates two values that also play a major role in samova's tea culture: intact nature, which is of central importance for the physical and mental health of us humans. And true friendship, which can move mountains - "we believe in friendship"!
For Heidi's Delight, Esin selected ingredients that are also native to Switzerland: Peppermint, lemon balm, apple, lady's mantle, rosemary and for the look of the "alpine meadow" flowers of safflower and cornflowers. We like to serve Heidi's Delight with the Bünden cherry liqueur Röteli and an amarena cherry. If you don't like alcohol, pour a very small shot of Voelkel BioZisch Raspberry-Cassis into the samova glass and top up with hot Heidi tea - hoooolaaaadriiioooooo
The premiere of the new samova specialty was duly celebrated on November 12, 2006, on the occasion of samova's fourth birthday, with a large tea dance at the Hamburg Übersee-Club. In addition to around 500 young and old samova fans, the party also included Heidi, the head of the tourism department of the Swiss Consulate General, and the actor and Swiss Hans-Jörg Frey, who delighted the Hanseatic crowd with his ExpertTEEn lecture on "The impact of Swiss alpine herb from an economic policy perspective". In addition, there was real alphorn funk, performed live by the young Feldbrunner Eliana Burki, the shooting star of the Swiss music scene at that time. The highlight of this summit, however, was a yodeling competition, which was mastered with flying colors by various daring Hamburgers.hoooolaaaadriiioooooo
