The history of Total Reset


Since samova was founded in 2002, Total Reset has played one of the leading roles in the cast list of our modern tea culture. In particular, the ingredient organic mountain tea from Greece, which was still largely unknown in Germany at the beginning of the new millennium, took center stage when samova was founded: it was this herb that was brewed and served at the Ragers' private breakfast. It was here that Esin Rager and samova co-founder Heinrich Paravicini made their first plans for a dance tea - which would later go down in our history as the starting point of the samova brand. In the first samova tea and herbal collection, the mountain tea in mono form was even given its own samova tea variety: Apollo's Light. At the same time, it was used in the spicy herbal blend Total Reset alongside fennel seeds, sage leaves, orange peel and carrot flakes. Esin created this blend as a non-flavored basic herbal tea to help its connoisseurs press the symbolic reset button after a heavy meal or a long night. Esin, who in her first career as a journalist was particularly knowledgeable about cinema, remembered the blockbuster »Total Recall« by Paul Verhoeven when brainstorming the name. The name of our powerful herbal tea blend was born: Total Reset!
After its presentation at our first samova Tanztee on November 3, 2002, the specialty Total Reset was given an extra appearance a year and a half later as its own Tanztee motto: After the political situation in Hamburg surrounding the scandal of the quarrels between the first (Ole von Beust) and second mayor (Ronald Schill) had slipped from the far right into chaos, we called for a Total Reset at our fourth samova Tanztee on February 29, 2004. With success.
Even today, we like to put the motto of our powerfully spicy »magic potion« into a social and climate policy context: when, if not now, is the time for a total reset of our purely growth-oriented economic system towards a climate-friendly, multicultural affluent society?

Inspiration

The blockbuster »Total Recall« was the inspiration for the name of our herbal tea hero Total Reset. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays the supposedly ordinary factory worker Douglas Quaid, who not only finds his own identity by rebooting his memory several times, but also saves the world from a villain.
